intro
Sirion’s April release continues our focus on delivering practical, high-impact enhancements that drive real value across the contract lifecycle. With updates that simplify complex workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve data precision, this release helps teams move faster, stay aligned, and scale governance with confidence.
From reusable sub-workflows that reduces setup effort, to dynamic form controls that improve data accuracy, automated signature flows that shorten turnaround time, smarter tagging that supports faster reviews, and API-powered integrations that reduce manual coordination — every feature in this release is designed to help teams work faster, collaborate better, and minimize post-signature risk.
Here’s what’s new and why it matters.
Let’s explore the highlights of this release.
Platform Enhancements: Build Smarter, More Scalable Workflows
1. Sub-Workflow Management in Workflow Designer
Admins can now insert “Sub-Workflow Nodes” inside parent workflows to create modular, reusable process blocks. For example, internal and counterparty review steps can be built once as sub-workflows and reused across workflows—reducing setup time, ensuring consistency, and simplifying updates.
2. Read-Only Access via Watcher Feature
Contract and Contract Request owners can now assign up to 50 users as read-only “Watchers,” enabling broader visibility without compromising data security. This is especially useful when teams like finance or compliance need to stay informed on contract status but shouldn’t be able to make changes—ensuring transparency without risking accidental edits.
3. “Not In” Operator for Nesting Configurations
The Workflow Designer now supports a “Not In” operator, allowing admins to hide fields based on exclusions—for example, suppressing a “Governing Law” field when the jurisdiction is New York. This ensures that users only see relevant fields, reducing clutter and input errors in forms
4. Nesting for Read-Only Fields
Admins can now apply nesting logic to read-only fields, making it possible to conditionally show or hide fields like “Missing Clauses” or “Total Deviations” based on inputs such as contract type. This keeps forms focused, highlighting key risk details only when relevant—without allowing edits.
5. Copy Field Configurations Across Statuses
Admins can copy field settings from one workflow status to others, speeding up setup and ensuring consistent configuration.
Authoring Enhancements: Speed Up Drafting, Signatures, and Reviews
1. Automated Signature Requests Without Tags
You can now send automated signature requests for document bundles even if some files lack signature tags—as long as one document includes all required fields. For example, if a bundle includes a signed agreement and supporting annexures, only the agreement needs signature tags. This streamlines the process while keeping supplementary files intact.
2. Improved Upload/Download Options on the CDR Feed Card
Clicking the “more” icon on the CDR feed now reveals direct upload new upload and download options. So, if a user spots a mistake in a contract version mid-review, they can immediately upload a corrected file or retrieve the latest copy—no need to navigate away. This speeds up version control and reduces friction.
3. Smart Tag Discrepancy Detection
Invalid smart tag data (e.g., incorrect currency or date formats) is now flagged on a dedicated Tag Discrepancy page, making it easy to identify and fix issues before they snowball.
API Enhancements: Automate More, Integrate Seamlessly
1. Delete Documents via API
External systems can now delete or check the status of documents in a CDR record via API. For instance, if an outdated NDA is flagged by a connected system, it can be removed automatically—reducing manual cleanup and keeping document sets accurate in high-volume workflows.
2. Counterparty Sharing for Contract Request Documents
New API support lets integrated systems share Contract Request documents directly with counterparties. This means tools like procurement portals can auto-send drafts to vendors—cutting out manual steps and speeding up negotiations
