intro
Sirion’s May release (v2.93) brings powerful enhancements across the authoring, platform, and API layers, all aimed at driving precision, speed, and flexibility throughout the contract lifecycle. From Word-based contract management and intelligent clause validation to granular permissions and workflow upgrades, this release empowers teams to work smarter and stay in control.
Here’s what’s new and why it matters.
Let’s explore the highlights of this release.
Authoring Enhancements: More Power, Right Where You Work
Work Directly in Microsoft Word with the ‘Sirion for Word’ Add-in
Sirion now brings clause and template management right into Microsoft Word, without any installation. With the new Sirion for Word Add-in, users can create clauses, insert smart tags, define signing order, and validate clause logic, all from within the familiar Word interface. This eliminates context switching, improves adoption, and lets legal teams move faster without leaving their authoring environment.
Enhanced Contextual Deviation Configuration for Clause Review
Admins can now customize which deviation levels (High, Low, etc.) trigger a clause review. Reviews are now targeted and more relevant – saving time and focusing attention where it’s needed.
SignIt E-Signature Integration
Need regional e-signature flexibility? Sirion now supports SignIt, enabling users to send, sign, and track contracts seamlessly across geographies. SignIt extends our e-sign ecosystem and improves compliance with local signing norms.
Enhanced Support to Delete Document Tags
Users can now delete document tags on the Contracts and Contract Request upload pages, removing unnecessary or mistakenly added tags and keeping tag lists relevant and organized. The capability also applies when uploading or editing documents in bulk. This keeps metadata relevant and improves downstream data hygiene.
Auto Extraction Enhancements: Smarter Data, Cleaner Interfaces
Standardized Auto-Extracted Fields
Sirion’s Auto Extraction module now creates standardized fields with appropriate data types, including Single Select and Multi Select options. This reduces manual setup effort and ensures cleaner, more consistent data across the board.
Extract Obligations from Tables within Document
Obligations hidden in tabular formats? Not anymore. Sirion now detects obligations from any row in a table and highlights them for clarity. This improves accuracy during extraction and makes reviews more intuitive.
Platform Enhancements: More Control, Less Effort with Admin 2.0
User Role Groups (Admin 2.0) – Granular Permissions for Contract Line Items
Admins can now assign separate create, edit, and delete permissions for Contract Line Items across Contracts, Draft Requests, and Rate Cards. This update supports role-based workflows, reduces unauthorized modifications, and enhances data integrity.
Event-Based Rules (Admin 2.0) Now Support Child Records
Sirion’s Event-Based Rules (EBR) now work with Child Service Levels and Child Obligations, making automation more powerful and scalable. Admins can now trigger changes based on granular data events, saving hours of manual work.
WF 2.0- Modify Workflow Statuses Without Losing Configurations
Client Admins can now update workflow statuses and transitions without wiping out existing configurations. This means key settings like Hide, Mandatory, and Editable (HME) properties are preserved, cutting down repetitive effort and reducing the risk of accidental rework during updates.
WF 2.0- Enhanced Sub-workflow Functionality
Sub-workflows now support multiple transition nodes, a default Workflow Type, deployment confirmations for older versions, and the ability to open in new tabs. These updates make complex workflow configuration faster, safer, and easier to manage.
WF 1.0 – Introduced New Function to Preserve End-of-Month Alignment in Monthly Intervals
A new date-handling function, addMonthsKeepEndDate, ensures end-of-month alignment when adding monthly intervals. This is especially useful for managing renewals or rolling terms, ensuring date calculations stay consistent, even across varying month lengths.
WF 2.0- Expanded Entity Support for Governance Bodies and Meetings
Workflows can now be configured for Governance Body (GB) and Governance Body Meeting (CGB) entities. Admins using Workflow 2.0 and Workflow Deployment can now apply advanced automation and transitions to these governance-specific modules, enhancing oversight and streamlining collaboration.
B2B APIs Enhancements: Better Visibility and Automation
New User Access APIs
Admins can now Create, Update, and Search User Access Criteria (UAC) directly via B2B APIs. This expands access management capabilities beyong sirion, adds deeper integration, and improves access governance.
Last Login Time in User Management API
Need to audit inactive users? The ‘lastLoginTime’ parameter is now available in the User Management API for better compliance tracking.
Full CLI Support for Contracts
You can now Create, Update, Delete, and Mass Delete Contract Line Items (CLIs) via API – bringing Contracts on par with Draft Requests. This makes automation smoother and improves control over contract data via integration.
Wrapping Up: Smarter Contracting Starts Here
The May 2025 release is all about sharper control, smoother workflows, and bringing contract actions closer to where teams already work. Whether you’re simplifying authoring, scaling automation, or improving API coverage, this update helps you do more with less effort.
